Blackpool’s Hameur Bouazza has today spoken out against his exclusion from the Algeria World Cup squad.

The left winger, who was a key man in the African Cup of Nations just five months ago, doesn’t make the final 23, with coach Rabah Saadane picking several uncapped players ahead of him.

‘I have always worked hard for Algeria – I feel like I have been hit with a baseball bat,’ the 25-year-old said.

‘I’ve got nothing against the new players but I’m disappointed with the manager.

‘The manager did not call me or come to see me to explain things to me like a professional.’

It is claimed that Bouazza has recovered from a groin injury, but it’s unlikely that he’ll make the bench on Saturday for the playoff final.

‘Some of my team mates are shocked that I have not been called up,’ he said.
