In breaking news this morning, it has been revealed that Blackpool’s £1 million bid for Leicester City striker DJ Campbell has been rejected – at least according to well placed sources at the Leicester Mercury.

City chief executive Lee Hoos has refused to comment on any of the speculation surrounding the player, but this news would tie into other reports this morning that suggest that the Foxes have offered the striker a new contract after new manager Paulo Sousa decided to give him a clean slate.

Leicester originally quoted the Seasiders at around £2 million for the player earlier this summer (after asking for £250,000 for him in January!), but now seem determined to keep him after 5 goals in as many pre-season games.
