The 30-year-old striker has secured a deal till the end of the season with Macc after hitting 5 goals in 9 starts, one being the equalizer in the Chelsea cup tie last week.
‘Big John Muphy’ joined the Pool in August 1999 from Chester. He went on to play 270 times bagging 105 goals, including 23 in the 2000 to 2001 promotion season.
He also scored in the Millennium Stadium in the 4-1 win over Cambridge in the Football League Trophy.
Lets hope that Murphy does the business down at Moss Ross in the relgation scrap at the foot of the table in League Two.
Murphy will be missed at Bloomfield Road but will be remembered by all as one of the standout players for the club in the last ten years.
