Barnsley: The Tykes have signed utility man Nathan Doyle on a free transfer. The twenty-three-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Oakwell following a successful loan spell.

Bristol City: Gary Johnson’s men have signed Jamal Campbell-Ryce from Barnsley on a two-and-a-half year deal. They’ve also signed goalkeeper Steve Collis until the end of the season and QPR striker Patrick Agyemang on loan until the end of the season.

Crystal Palace: The Eagles have gone into administration and have been deducted ten points. The administrators have banned Victor Moses from playing as they look to sell the club’s most valuable player.

Derby: The Rams have signed Sunderland defender Russell Anderson on a free transfer. The club have also extended the loan of Bolton defender Nicky Hunt until the end of the season.

Ipswich: The Tractor Boys have allowed midfielder Colin Healy to join Falkirk on loan until the end of the season.

Leicester: Chairman Milan Mandaric has pleaded his innocence after being charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue. Meanwhile, the Foxes have signed Nolberto Solano and have sold Max Gradel to Leeds.

Middlesbrough: Lots going on at the Boro. Mohammed Shawky has joined Kayserispor on a free. Barry Robson, Willo Flood and Chris Killen have all joined from Celtic. Mark Yeates has surprisingly been sold to Sheffield United. There’s probably more, but there’s not enough hours in the day…

Newcastle: The Toon have signed Danny Simpson from Man Utd after a loan spell. They have also signed Wayne Routledge from QPR and Mike Williamson from Portsmouth. They have also had a bid for Forest’s James Perch rejected.

Forest: The promotion chasers have received a massive blow with Aston Villa recalling left back Nicky Shorey from his loan spell.

Plymouth: The strugglers have signed David Stockdale on loan from Fulham, whilst coach John Carver has signed a new contract with the club after turning down a move to Burnley.

Preston: The Nobbers have signed Danny Welbeck on loan from Man Utd until the end of the season. As much as it pains me to say it, that’s a good bit of business by them.

QPR: The Hoops have signed Nigel Quashie on a free after his release from West Ham, and have completed the loan signing of defender Matt Hill from Wolves.

Reading: The Royals have signed Zurab Khizanishvili on loan until the end of the season, whilst caretaker manager Brian McDermott has been given the manager’s job permanently.

Scunthorpe: The Iron have signed Forest defender Brendon Maloney on loan until the end of the season.

Sheff Utd: After promising to stay until the end of the season, defender Matthew Kilgallon has joined Sunderland. Fickle lot aren’t they footballers?

Swansea: The Swans have signed veteran striker Shefki Kuqi on a free transfer.

Watford: The Hornets have signed Will Buckley from Rochdale, extended the loan of striker Heidar Helguson and signed Stephen McGinn from St Mirren.
