The defender missed Pool’s tour of Latvia earlier this week. Instead the likeable scouser was in the North West doing fitness work.

Speaking at a local school’s sports awards evening last night, Coid confirmed he will resume full training with the squad next week and he should figure in Pool’s pre-season fixture with St. Mirren on July 29.

Coidy is the longest serving player currently on the books at Blackpool as he enters his tenth season at Bloomfield Road.

Coid said the squad was shaping up nicely ahead of the new season and he was keen to champion Matty Kay’s cause saying he looked very impressive in training, although the youngster is now sidelined through injury.

Danny will be hoping to make a big impact in the first team this season having struggled to hold a regular place in the squad in the Championship last year.
