Confusion Over Barker Future

Two local papers in the East Midlands, covering Nottingham Forest and Derby County, are making the whole Shaun Barker saga very confusing!

The Nottingham-based paper has stated that both their local side and rivals Derby County have had bids of £750,000 rejected by The Seasiders.

‘Tangerines officials have confirmed that both the East Midlands sides have had £750,000 bids for the centre-half rejected in recent weeks,’ it reads.

However, The Derby Telegraph has an interview with Rams Chairman in their edition today, who says that the club haven’t put another bid in for the 26-year-old since a £400k offer was knocked back.

‘There has been no new bid from us,’ said Pearson.

‘At the moment, our offer is substantially lower than that (£750,000).’

‘Pool boss Ian Holloway was quite clear last week about his views on the matter, which can be read here >>>

So who to believe (and we won’t even add into the equation that Nigel Clough has apparently said on local radio that talks with Reggie are ongoing)?

The player is currently on holiday and returns to training with the rest of the squad early July.
