Crewe Sign Blackpool’s Marlon Broomes

I’ll forget about the puns; Blackpool defender Marlon Broomes has joined League One strugglers Crewe Alexandra on a one month loan deal.

The 31-year-old has made just one ‘Pool appearance since joining on a free transfer from Stoke City in the summer – that was a late substitute change against QPR.

Stuart Green has also been loaned out to Alex this year, but his loan move wasn’t a success. He and Broomes are both out of contract in the summer.

Crewe sit bottom of League One after managerial turmoil this season – five points from safety – and face Peterborough on Tuesday night, where Broomes is expected to be involved.
