Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has today held talks with Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton, the Daily Mail report.
The Seasiders are looking for a new manager after Ian Holloway moved to Crystal Palace over the weekend.
Oyston revealed earlier in the day that he was looking to make a swift appointment, but that he would not be talking to managers in work without the permission of his current club.
Despite being a former Preston midfielder, the suggestion of Appleton has resonated with some Pool supporters who point towards limited resources at Fratton Park.
