Deal or no deal?

Speaking the press after yesterday’s game, Williams will set his sights on earning a contract to secure his future.

“I’m here in the hope of securing a future for myself and my family, so we’ll see what manager Simon Grayson has to say about it.

‘I scored a hat-trick against Port Vale in Phil Parkinson’s first game in charge of Colchester and I’ve scored once against them since, so this goal makes it five in four games against them.

‘I told the lads when we were coming out that this was my lucky team and they reminded me of that on the way back to the dressing rooms.

Williams will now be looking for a starting place for the Bradford game on Tuesday night. Bradford were thumped yesterday 4-1 at home to Oldham and will be looking to bounce back in the re-arranged fixture.
