Gordon whose former clubs include Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Cardiff (loan), Coventry, Reading (loan), Grimsby and Apoel Nicosia (a Cypriot team) will slot into the left back role.
Recently Gordon had been playing at Crook Town and had recently failed in an attempt to gain a professional contract at League One rivals Barnsley.
Gordon has signed a month-to-month contract and could remain at the club till the end of the season.
