In breaking news from Bloomfield Road this afternoon, BFC have announced that full back Neal Eardley has signed a new contract with the Seasiders.

The Welsh international’s future was unclear earlier this month when ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway revealed that he had rejected the offer of a new deal at the club and thus would not be selected in the opening game of the season against Hull due to ‘not being in the right frame of mind’ for the match.

However, Eardley then captained the Seasiders in their Carling Cup defeat against Sheffield Wednesday before making his first league appearance of the season off the bench in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Brighton.

Eardley has penned a new one year deal with a year’s option.

In other contract news, ‘Pool are continuing negotiations with Keith Southern and Gary Taylor-Fletcher, but youngster Josh Egan has left the club to sign for Bath City.

Ash Eastham is also on the move, having joined Bury on loan until January.
