Young ‘Pool centre half Ashley Eastham has today extended his loan deal at Cheltenham Town by a month.

Eastham has played seven games for the League Two side since signing for them in January.

The defender is enjoying his second loan spell at Whaddon Road after playing for the Robins towards the end of last year.

Meanwhile ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway has defended his decision to send Rob Edwards and Marlon Harewood out on loan to Norwich and Barnsley respectively.

Ollie has come in for criticism for loaning the pair out when ‘Pool are hardly blessed with options both at centre half and in attack at the moment, but stated that he wanted the pair to get match fit for the final few games of the season.

However, whilst Harewood started for Barnsley at the weekend, Edwards is yet to play for Norwich having failed to come off the bench in two games.

‘Pool’s options at the back have been boosted by the return of Chris Basham however who completed ninety minutes in our reserve’s 2-1 win over Liverpool Reserves at Bloomfield Road this afternoon.
