The Forest match, which ended 2-2, was witness to some of the worst scenes of violence at Bloomfield Road in recent years, with the majority of problems being caused outside of the ground. Trouble then spread to the town centre at night in the resorts pubs and clubs.

In a joint effort with Blackpool Police the club have managed to track down the eight using CCTV from the City Centre. The civil banning orders mean that the eight won’t be allowed to attend home matches with turnstile operators being warned about the banned fans.

Chairman Karl Oyston today spoke to the Evening Gazette ?We’ve taken this step to support the police as I’m aware of a problem and we want to make sure it’s nipped in the bud. I cannot tolerate the fact a family club could be infiltrated and affected by the behaviour of a small minority of so-called supporters.’

‘We’ve worked very closely with the police and will continue to do so.

‘If there is any further problems, we will have no hesitation in bringing further banning orders.
