31 year old midfield player, Gareth Farrelly has been brought in to the seaside on a short term contract, Pool’s third signing in a mad half hour at Bloomers.
He has been training with the club for a number of weeks, and has done enough to earn him a contract, albeit on a short term basis.
The former Ireland international, who won six caps for the republic, has had a trail at Championship club recently – Leicester City – but that was to prove unsuccessful.
The reason Farrelly was a free agent is because he was sacked by homeland club, Bohemians following a poor run of results, the tip of the iceberg being an early exit in the FAI Cup.
He`s no stranger to English football, after spells with Aston Villa, Rotherham United,
Everton, Bolton Wanderers,Burnley, Bradford City and Wigan Athletic.
Farrelly was Sam Allardyce`s first signing as Bolton manager, and the midfielder can play in the middle or either wing.
We expect him to play a part on Friday night against Tranmere Rovers.
