The Gazette are today reporting that Liverpool will make a fresh bid for Charlie Adam this weekend.

There has been much speculation about the Scottish international’s future, with sources at the Liverpool end claiming that a deal is nearly done, whilst Blackpool maintain that they have received no offers for their captain this summer. The truth, as it often is, is probably somewhere inbetween.

Nevertheless, the Gazette report that Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston and Liverpool’s Director of Football Damien Comolli will discuss the midfielder’s future this week, with a bid in the region of £10 million being mooted.

However, Adam is still being linked with Aston Villa and Manchester United, so any deal with Liverpool is far from cut and dried.
