Colin Hendry has apologised to fans following Blackpool’s 2-1 defeat at Gillingham.

Despite taking a one goal lead in the first half, everything fell apart after the break, with Gillingham equilising and then taking the lead and goalscorer Keigan Parker being sent off.

‘We did well in the first half and were sticking to our game plan. When we went in at half-time we were playing good football and deserved our lead – it could have even been two or three.

‘But two corner kicks have led to their goals and our more responsible members of the team have let us down – that’s a bit disappointing.

‘I had to go to the fans at the end and apologise for the second half performance. The players have got to take more responsibility.

‘There were individual errors and there wasn’t a lot I could do to change things, especially when we went down to 10 men.’
