Phil Doughty, on the look out for a new club after his release by Blackpool, has joined Hereford United on a week’s trial. Doughty who saw loan service at both Accrington Stanley and Macclesfield Town last season, was at one time rumoured to be a target for Chester City.

Blackpool Vital has been informed that Doughty joined up with Hereford two hours before last night’s friendly with Wolves in which he played 38 minutes. He is due to play in a second friendly against Birmingham City this Saturday. All at Blackpool Vital wish Phil all the best for the remainder of his trial, and hope he can land a permanent deal with United.
