Phillips has today confirmed on twitter that he has broken his arm, and is awaiting an operation to correct the problem, something that manager Paul Ince could do without as he continues to try and rebuild the squad ready for the opening game at Doncaster.
There is not yet a timescale for Phillips injury, but it is thought to be a lengthy time on the sidelines.
