Loan stars strike for the Seasiders

We should be used to it now. A squad packed full of loan players is becoming commonplace at Blackpool. By now we have all seen the pros and cons to this method of transfer dealings. So to focus on the positives, haven’t we been lucky with the strikers we have seen at the seaside this season?

Kabba, Gow, Dickinson and now Campbell with a combined total of 13 goals between them thus far (with many more to come from the latter).

Starting with Steve Kabba, the Watford forward started excellently for Pool before sadly fading. He scored on his home debut in the 3-1 reverse against Sheffield United in August. And he notched his second but ultimately last goal for the Tangerines against Barnsley. But what a cracker it was – a 25-yard screamer in the 85th minute to win the game.

Alan Gow mesmorised us with his silky skills and tricky footwork. He also bagged five goals, including last minute point winners against Cardiff and Watford.

Liam Dickinson won the admiration of the Pool faithful in less than 90 minutes of football. He scored a brace on his debut, coming off the bench late on at Plymouth to win the match. In the next game he bagged another brace in the 2-0 win over Charlton.

And now DJ Campbell has stepped up to the plate with goals on his full debut and home debut to kick-off his Blackpool career in style.

If only these players had been with Pool permanently this season. Who knows where we might be now?
