Blackpool are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sean Longstaff in the three all draw with Doncaster Rovers at the weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Longstaff was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Blackpool claimed a point from their visit to Doncaster Rovers after falling behind three times, and Longstaff was impressive in the middle for the Seasiders. A stunning strike was the first equaliser, and he added an assist when teeing up Callum Cooke for the goal that eventually sealed the draw.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Longstaff for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Matt Gilks (Scunthorpe United), Jack O’Connell (Sheffield United), Liam Cooper (Leeds United), Tom Miller (Carlisle United), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa), Sean Longstaff (Blackpool), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Devante Cole (Fleetwood Town), David Nugent (Derby County).

Manager – Michael Flynn (Newport County).
