The Daily Mail are reporting that Miguel Angel Llera has signed for the Seasiders on a free transfer.

Miguel Angel Llera has signed for Blackpool on a free transfer, the Daily Mail report.

And in similar circumstances to both Matt Hill and Kevin Phillips, the central defender is thought to have penned a one-year deal with the option of a second at the end of the season.

Llera, 31, was released at the end of his contract at Charlton Athletic after making just 18 appearances for the Addicks last term.

The Spaniard would provide back up and competition for Ian Evatt, Craig Cathcart and Alex Baptiste at the heart of the Seasiders’ defence – with Ian Holloway apparently beating off competition from Brighton for the player’s signature.

The paper say he has joined the rest of the squad at their pre-season camp in Portugal.

From a Charlton fan…Llera is a player who always gives 100%…and is useful in the air and dead ball situations…his major problem is that he will make serious mistakes in dangerous areas, and I think he loses focus at times…If Holloway can get him to concentrate for 90 minutes plus any added time he will do OK..
