Confusion Over Ranger Future

There is confusion tonight over the future of Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger who is known to have held talks with Blackpool over a possible move to the Seasiders over the past few days.

The Daily Mail are currently claiming that the move (worth £1.5 million) has fallen through after the striker failed to agree personal terms, but other media outlets are stating that the move is very much still on, whilst others are claiming that the deal is only a loan one.

The Mail claimed yesterday that the Seasiders had completed the signing of ex Charlton centre back Miguel Angel Llera – a story supported by the likes of Sky Sports – but BBC Radio Lancashire are reporting that the Spanish centre back is only on trial with the Seasiders. Whether this has a knock-on effect in terms of the reliability of the Mail’s story on Ranger is unclear.

20 year old Ranger has scored just two league goals in 49 appearances for Newcastle, and is believed to be available for transfer – despite signing a five and a half year deal with the club in December 2010 – due to off the field issues.
