Blackpool have signed another player ahead of the loan deadline today, as midfielder Joe Martin has been captured from Spurs.

The 19 year old, who has played for England schoolboys at all levels, is the son of former West Ham defender Alvin Martin.

The highly rated midfield player is also adept to playing at left back and goes straight into contention for Saturday’s match with Crystal Palace.

Born in Dagenham, Joe attended St Edwards Comprehensive School and previously played for West Ham.

He played five games for Spurs’ Under-18s in 2004-05 and impressed enough to make the side for an FA Youth Cup tie at Liverpool. Joined their Academy full-time in the summer of 2005 and made 22 appearances for the Under-18s in 2005-06. He also featured on 11 occasions for the title-winning reserve side.

In other news, Matt Lawlor has had his loan spell at Harrogate Railway extended.

One for next season? Matty getting valuable experience too. Seems we could be slowly building a team of younger players for the future.
    Well done Simon.

Season long loan would be nice. Onwards + Upwards

Well having watched Joe score on his debut in Tangerine…albeit in the reserves, I’m pleased to report that hi will be another good signing.
