Goals from Claus Jorgensen, Keigan Parker and Shaun Barker ensured that Blackpool signed off the League campaign – before the playoffs – at home with a victory against champions Scunthorpe United.

Billy Sharp – chief antagoniser of the fans and players (Ian Evatt in particular) all afternoon grabbed the goal for United in the brief 10 minute spell of pressure following the sending off of Chris Brandon for a silly kick-out at Jermain Beckford.

However ‘Pool remained strong after half time and grabbed the third goal and left the Tangerine faithful with hope in their hearts for a playoff win – or even automatic promotion should Bristol City lose and Nottm. Forest draw (at the most!) next weekend.

A fitting send-off for Alan Ball at the club where he made his name and some very emotional words said pre-kickoff by PA Announcer Tony Parr which have to be applauded.
