Pool in Preston

Being a Seasider all my life, having inherited tangerine blood from my Dad, it was quite a momentous decision to enrol at the Univeristy of Central Lancashire, located in deepest darkest Preston.

Fortunately, in the footballing stakes it is so far so good with Pool flying high and mighty above PNE in the league table (long may it continue).

Even better is the fact that so far in my first semester I have found three Pool fans in comparison to just one PNE supporter! It just goes to show how well we are followed despite being in the foreign location of Preston.

To be on the safe side I have so far passed up the chance to sport my tangerine colours in public around Preston, just incase I offend any of the locals!

The advantage of going to a local uni is I don’t have to travel far to watch the Mighty each week. It’s always nice to be ‘home’ at the weekend watching Pool at Bloomers.

Of course what all Pool fans are looking forward to the most this season is the trip to Dungdale in December. It promises to be a cracking derby. Who knows, a Pool win could send us into the Christmas period in the play offs, pushing Preston to the foot of the table! Whatever the result, it may be best for yours truly to keep his footballing identity under wraps to be safe rather than sorry!

Up the Pool!
