The Blackpool Gazette are today reporting that Ian Holloway is considering a move for Hibernian striker Derek Riordan.

Riordan scored 17 goals in the SPL last season in what is his second spell at the club (he’s had a spell at Celtic sandwiched in between).

And, reportedly valued at £500,000 and thus within the Seasiders’ budget, the Scot is reported to very much be on the club’s radar, although they face competition from the likes of Burnley, Derby, QPR, and a number of clubs on the continent.

Meanwhile, in other transfer news, The Gazette has distanced Blackpool from speculation linking them with a move for midfielder Robert Koren, released by West Brom.

Despite ‘Pool fans knowing that Koren’s wages would be too pricey, national media reports still insisted yesterday that the ‘Pool were making moves for the Slovenian who is set to grace the World Cup later this month.

However, as The Gazette points out today, whilst Ian Holloway is a big fan of the player, he simply would not fit into the wage structure at the club.

Finally, it is Vital Blackpool’s understanding that released left back Joe Martin is being tracked by recently promoted League One side Rochdale as a replacement for Tom Kennedy.
