A neatly taken half-volley from Wes Hoolahan within the first 15 minutes of the game sent the ‘Pool fans into raptures.
Loanee, Robbie Williams made the score 2-0 just before the hour mark with a neatly worked freekick routine that totally deceived the Crewe ‘keeper, Ben Williams, to take the left back’s tally to 2 goals in as many games – a very shrewd signing indeed, Mr. Grayson!
Keith Southern returned from injury, coming off the bench and rattling the bottom of the post with a rasping volley from outside the area in the second half.
Crewe ended the game pressuring Blackpool and grabbed a late consolation goal from a corner, Shaun Miller heading in at the back post on his debut.
