Pride, Passion and Points

For the hundreds, like myself, who entered into the ballot for Nob End tickets and were unsuccessful but got down to Bloomers to watch the game, I salute you.

Almost 1,000 Tangerines’ packed into the sponsors lounge in the West stand on Saturday lunchtime to witness the best three points of the season so far.

The atmosphere at Bloomers was electric; I felt like I was at Deepdung myself as the hairs stood on the back of my neck.

Among the Pool faithful was Seaside legend Mike Davies. The stalwart seemed to enjoy the game while guzzling down a few pints!

Sky Sports’s Peter Stevenson was on hand to capture the atmosphere for Sky and he won’t have been disappointed with plenty of chanting, singing and cheering. There was even a handful of kids’ jumping up and down throwing their shirts’ around their heads after Wes had converted the penalty!

Credit to the match commentator, Radio Five Lives’ David Oates, a lifelong Seasdier who was spot on throughout.

The script couldn’t have been written more perfectly. Wes, fresh from criticism from some sections of the Pool support, put in a man of the match display. And, of course, he capped it all off with the only goal, that elaborate, cheeky penalty to sink the nobbers’.

All in all a brilliant day. More of the same, in, arguably an even more important game on Tuesday night against the Bluebirds.
