Saturday’s clash between Blackpool and Portsmouth at Bloomfield Road saw fans treated to a five goal thriller.

A Brett Pitman brace helped visiting Portsmouth to victory over the hosts and the game did provide fans with four goals in the final 16 minutes of the affair.

Pitman’s second goal on the day proved to be the winner and it followed Ben Close giving Portsmouth the lead for the second time after Viv Solomon-Otabor and an Oliver Hawkins own goal brought the hosts back into the game.

Blackpool fans will no doubt shake off the defeat following news earlier in the week of the Oyston family selling up and inviting offers.

Portsmouth had the lead in the 52nd minute, with Blackpool first levelling matters up with 16 minutes left to play. They again levelled the scores at two nil, three minutes after Portsmouth had regained the lead but Pitman was on hand four minutes later to score what became the winner in the 86th minute.

The result moves Portsmouth into eleventh place in the table, one point ahead of Blackpool who now sit in 13th.
