Seasiders Round-Up

Blackpool’s hunt for a striker continues after fresh moves to capture the signing of DJ Campbell from Leicester once again hit a brick wall. The striker, who enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Bloomfield Road last season, is on around £20,000 a week at Leicester – a figure well out of reach for ‘Pool.

It all appears to have gone quiet with another player that ‘Pool were linked with: Yannick Boli. The PSG frontman was rumoured to be heading to the seaside on a loan spell.

Holloway now says he is looking at an attacking midfielder, but he appears to be the only one under the impression that we don’t need to strengthen up top.

Holloway’s attacking options have been further diluted for tomorrow’s game against Coventry, with Ishmel Demontagnac out with a hamstring strain suffered in the 4-1 Carling Cup win against Wigan. However, Ben Burgess is fit again.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez felt that his side handed the Cup game to ‘Pool, but those who went to the game know how well Holloway’s men played and will be hoping for a similar performance tomorrow.
