Seasiders’ Sponsors: your favourites

Shirt sponsorship is an issue that gets all the fans talking. It’s often the make-or-break decision when you come to buy a new shirt.

Blackpool FC has a new sponsor and let’s hope Carbrini’s name will continue to be a lucky omen for Pool after making its debut in the fantastic win at Birmingham.

There have been some notable sponsors adorning the Blackpool shirt in recent history. According to our latest poll your favourite has been Telewest, which drew in 48% of the votes.

I don’t know about you but I still have my Telewest Blackpool kit sitting snuggly in my drawer – a great relic of the past. John Murphy, Brett Ormerod, Ian Hughes to name but a few of the Seasiders legends to have put on that shirt.

Floors to Go came second in the poll pulling in 24% of the votes. That was the sponsor which was on the shirt which graced Wembley stadium in Pool’s glorious play-off triumph against Yeovil two years ago.

Another special moment came at Deepdale last December when Wes Hoolahan, wearing the Floors to Go Pool kit, chipped his penalty down the centre of the goal to beat Preston.

Pricebusters and Rebecca’s came joint third with 12% of the votes while Electricity Direct obviously didn’t appeal to that many fans coming in last with 4% of the vote.
