Supporters deserve ‘special treatment’

You’ve been voting this past week on the recent initiatives announced by BFC to reward the fans.

Season ticket holders can pick up a free pie and drink at any of December’s home games.

Also, under-19s can get into the Wolves game on December 29 free with a paying adult.

In our poll 52 per cent of you reckon it’s about time the fans were given a reward considering the ticket price increases which kicked in at the start of the season. Increases of up to 30 per cent on tickets at Bloomfield Road have surely contributed to lower crowds this year. But initiatives like those proposed by the club are welcome and should ensure a few more bums on seats at Bloomers this December.

Having said that 30 per cent of you think the rewards won’t do much good. Certainly the quality of football and results at the seaside needs to improve greatly to tempt a few stay-aways back to Bloomers.

With the South stand slowly starting to move forward – it should be completed in time for next season – will that encourage more people to come along and support the lads? The last thing we want is a brand new stand half empty.

Get voting in this week’s new poll which asks you if it is easier to play away from home in the Championship.
