The Importance of Adam and Vaughan

This article isn’t about why Charlie Adam and David Vaughan were so important to the Seasiders on the pitch. Oh no. That was obvious!

Instead I want to focus on what their time at the club can do for us in the future, specifically when it comes to transfers.

It’s fair to say that both players have had their careers transformed by their spells at Bloomfield Road, with both going onto bigger and better things.

In my opinion, we need to use these two examples when trying to attract new players to the ‘Pool – kind of a ‘look what we can do for your career’.

The more players that we can bring in, improve and sell on to bigger clubs, the more our reputation as a stepping stone will build.

Yes, we’ll have to go through the heartbreak of seeing our big name players leave every now and then, but it should also help us attract a better class of player; players hungry to prove themselves, with untapped potential.

Whilst losing Adam and Vaughan will undoubtedly set us back in the short term, if we’re clever, in the long term, we can twist their departures to really benefit us.
