Easter Monday was the day all Blackpool fans became all but certain that The Seasiders would be taking part in the lottery that is the playoffs at the end of the season. Blackpool came away from The Galpharm Stadium with a fantastic 2-0 win which took them up to fourth with only four games to play.

Monday`s Fixtures:

Carlisle United 3 – 1 Bournemouth
Carlisle`s fourth straight win leaves them four points from the playoffs after goals from former Seasiders Danny Graham (who is hitting form now with five goals in his last four) and Danny Livesey along with a Neale McDermott strike five minutes from time. Young Sam Vokes scored the Cherries reply.
Position: 8th
Prediction: 6th

Bradford City 1 – 1 Oldham Athletic
A Luigi Glombard goal in the 88th minute spared Oldham`s blushes at Valley Parade as he rescued a point after Moses Ashikodi put City ahead. The home side also had a man sent off.
Position: 6th
Prediction: 5th

Gillingham 1 – 0 Bristol City
A Dean McDonald goal secured the three points for The Gills, and dented City`s solidarity in second place. Bristol are wobbling at exactly the same time as they always do!
Position: 2nd
Prediction: 3rd

Yeovil Town 2 – 1 Leyton Orient
Town scored two goals in the final quarter of an hour to win a game they should really have lost. A Wayne Gray penalty cancelled out Ryan Jarvis` opener for Orient and Arron Davies won the game late on for Yeovil who are fifth.
Position: 5th
Prediction: 7th

Northampton Town 2 – 1 Scunthorpe United
The shock of the day was at The Sixfields where Alex Pearce and a last minute strike from Bradley Johnson won the game for Town and put off Scunny`s title winning weekend for a couple of weeks. Billy Sharp had equalised earlier in the game.
Position: 1st
Prediction: 1st

Nottingham Forest 1 – 1 Rotherham United
Dropped points set back Forest`s automatic promotion ambitions after they succumb to a Chris O’Grady finish after ten minutes; only for Grant Holt to equalise ten minutes later from the spot.
Position: 3rd
Prediction: 2nd

Swansea City 3 – 0 Port Vale
Swansea won at home easily against a poor Vale team with goals coming from Lee Trundle and two from Darryl Duffy. By all accounts, the welsh side should have had at least another four!
Position: 7th
Prediction: 8th

*Note that we now regard Tranmere as mid table mediocrity!*

The Table:
1 Scunthorpe 42 82
2 Bristol City 42 76

3 Nottm Forest 42 72
4 Blackpool 42 71
5 Yeovil 42 70
6 Oldham 42 69

7 Swansea 42 65
8 Carlisle 42 65

For me, it looks like we’re in at least the playoffs and possibly more if I had my optimist hat on!

Next weeks games:
Saturday, 14 April 2007
Blackpool v Northampton, 15:00
Bournemouth v Swansea, 15:00
Brentford v Nottm Forest, 15:00
Bristol City v Yeovil, 15:00
Oldham v Cheltenham, 15:00
Rotherham v Carlisle, 15:00
Scunthorpe v Huddersfield, 15:00

If Bristol City get beat against Yeovil on Saturday, I think we might sneak it. Problem is, I don’t think they will, and we’ll finish fourth in my opinion!
