The League 2 season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Doncaster moved closer to promotion – and the title – when Plymouth lost ground. Portsmouth also closed in on automatic promotion.
Leyton Orient look doomed but Newport could yet pull clear of trouble and stay in the Football League.

Grimsby briefly held the lead against Doncaster but they stormed back to record a 5-1 victory, responding to a defeat against promotion rivals Plymouth last weekend, leaving Donny on the brink of securing promotion – most likely the title too.
A first win in six – having lost the last four – for Cheltenham improved their survival hopes. This 3-1 defeat for Morecambe was a seventh in a row for the visitors but a 10 point advantage should see the Shrimps clear from any relegation concerns.
Crewe’s three game winning run was ended when Cambridge left Gresty Road with a 2-1 win that keeps them in with a chance of making the play-offs – the U’s are five points adrift of Carlisle.
A third successive defeat saw Hartlepool drop to third bottom – and just five points from safety – after promotion chasing Portsmouth left Victoria Park with a 2-0 victory. It could be a nervy final six games for Poolie after Newport’s win.
10 man Leyton Orient’s fifth straight defeat has all but confirmed relegation. Two goals in a minute late in the first half saw Wycombe to a 2-0 win at Brisbane Road, leaving Orient nine points from safety – the Chairboys are four points off the top seven.
Luton won the play-off battle with Blackpool when an added time goal sealed the Hatters a 1-0 win at Kenilworth Road, Pools dropped out of the play-off zone.
A dramatic finale saw Mansfield’s lead lost as Exeter – having rescued a point in a 3-3 draw with two minutes to play from three down last week – came from behind, scoring a 97th minute winner at Field Mill. The Grecians climbed up to sixth.
Newport’s first win in four gives the Exiles renewed hope of staying in the Football League. A 1-0 win over Crawley – who have won just once in eight – saw the gap to safety closed to five points.
The improvement at Notts County under Kevin Nolan continued as the Magpies recorded a third straight win against Colchester. This 3-1 defeat for the U’s saw them drop to 12th, five points off the play-offs.
Plymouth couldn’t follow up the win over leaders Doncaster as the Pilgrims slipped to a 1-0 defeat against in-form Accrington. Stanley’s unbeaten run was extended to 12 with this victory at Home Park that keeps alive a potentially remarkable run into the top seven?
The possibility of Stevenage finishing in the top three remains on following a 1-0 win over Barnet – victory keeps Boro within six points of promotion rivals Portsmouth, but games are running out with Pompey’s goal difference also superior.
Yeovil were beaten 2-0 by Carlisle at Huish Park. The Cumbrians’ first win in eight took them back into the play-off places.
