Pool went down 3-1 to the Welsh side, the only player in the team with first team experience being Matthew Kay. It the second game of the season for the reserves and their second defeat, they lost out to Oldham last week at Fleetwood Town.

The trialists were Paul Collins defender Manchester City, Dave Cowan defender Newcastle United, Craig Reid striker Coventry, Morike Sako Torquay and Osman Sesay winger from Margate.

Wrexham took a three-nil lead in the first half, a brace from Jamie Reed and one from Marc Williams made the result secure before the second half.

Pool played better in the second half and managed to grab a conciliation goal through former Coventry striker Craig Reed.



Pool – Clancy, Cowan, Collins, Doran, Sako, Sesay, Reid, Paterson, Kay, Merella Subs – Halstead, Ogden, Holt, Smith, Caddick.
