Adkins Potted – Good News?

The journey to replace Michael Appleton is but a week old, but for us Blackpool fans, it seems as though it has been gong on forever! With us linked to any and every manager, whether officially approached or not – but as far as we know, only one concrete job offer being made to Sean O’Drscoll last Saturday afternoon, only for Bristol City to pip us to the post by Saturday evening.

And so as the managerial merry-go-round snatched a possible successor from us, could today it have gifted us an opportunity? Nigel Adkins has certainly earned respect at Scunthorpe and Southampton. He seemed set for the chop at the end of last year, only for the Saints chances of survival improving of late. Yet another curiously timed sacking, but there we have it.

So, will this opportunity salivate the Chairman? After a grim week, it seems a golden opportunity, if we strike quickly, then it gives an opportunity to do some business in the window (pity he cannot sneak Jason Puncheon out with him as severance).

Could the Seasiders end the week with some good news?

As a disappointed Saints fan all I can say is you could certainly do worse. Watch our game on Sky on monday night and you may see what high regard we hold Our Nigel in. If you get him I will certainly be watching your results with interest.
