Blackpool are ‘down to the bare bones’ but need a result against Nottingham Forest to get their Championship campaign back on track.

The Seasiders have been abysmal in recent weeks – losing four in five – with rumbling discontent from supporters, especially after the lacklustre defeat at Burnley on Saturday.

It doesn’t get any easier for Pool with Ian Holloway, heavily linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers, revealing that he is lacking options at the back with injuries to both Craig Cathcart and Ian Evatt.

Chris Basham could be brought in from the cold to play against Forest alongside Alex Baptiste.

‘I doubt very much he’ll [Cathcart] have any chance for Tuesday. Ian Evatt’s knee has also been locking,’ Holloway said.

‘We’ve had a scan on that and he has quite bad bone bruising, so he could do with a rest really.

‘That’s the reason he was named on the bench on Saturday, but (with Cathcart’s injury) it’s a good job I put him on the bench.’

Barry Ferguson is set to go out on loan in a quest for added game time while Holloway has a selection headache in midfield as he searches for a three that click.
