With season ticket sales now standing at a figure in excess of 5000, Blackpool FC have decided that a new membership scheme will come in to force to enable non season ticket holders to purchase match day tickets.

The cost of the scheme, as announced today on the official site, is £20 per supporter. This will enable fans, subject of course to availability, to buy matchday tickets varying in price from £6 to £25, as opposed to match day prices which will cost between £11 and £30.

Members will also get the further benefits of 10% discounts on both club shop items and the home programme subscription. Cardholders will however rank behind season ticket holders when purchasing away and cup tickets.

So what do you think? Is this the act of a Board growing further out of touch with its fan base? Or is it merely a measured response to the current financial climate in football?
