Whinging his way to Brighton.

Andrew Whing snubbed a move up north to Blackpool to join Brighton this week. Whing spent the latter part of the season just gone at Brighton on loan from Coventry and expressed that the move to Brighton was down to the management team at Brighton.

“Dean Wilkins (manager) and Dean White (assistant) kept in contact. They have showed great interest in me.

“I feel I can talk to them and it is a big thing for me to have a manager and staff who want me. That was the big reason.


Whing, a defender, had generated interest from League One sides Wallsall and Leeds (love putting that!).

Build it KO, and they will come

Big KO has stated that the expansion to Bloomfield Road is most likely going to be going ahead, with the capacity at Bloomers expected to reach the 13,000 mark for the new season in the

The south stand, which currently is a baron wasteland will be the developed area, with the possibility of a “permanent element”, we`ll wait and see KO.

Fixtures

The pre-season fixtures have been announced, with the expected tour of Latvia and the visit of the Pie Munchers Wigan to the seaside the highlights.

Players return on the 5th next month, and play the standard game with Fleetwood Town on the on Saturday 14th July.

They then fly over to the continent to Latvia for a game with Olimps on Thurday. Saturday its Ventspils the champions of Latvia, Kaspers used to play for them.

Monday sees a game in Riga against Skonto Riga and then flights back the next day. On the Wednesday Pool face Wigan at Bloomfield Road (7:45), maybe the first test run of the new stand if KO has been working hard!

Back of the road then to Livingston on July 28 (3pm), let`s hope the officials at Livi don`t try snatching our Wes back! A behind closed doors match at Bradford on the 31st.

The pre-season fixtures are competed on the Saturday 4th of August with a trip to Carlisle, the place for some where our season kicked off!

Movers and Shakers

In the transfer market there has been a bit of activity regarding Blackpool. Former Pool defender Paul Edwards moved to Port Vale from Oldham, former loanee Danny Graham moved from Boro to join Carlisle where he will play alongside Danny Carlton a former Pool target.

Carlton moved form Morecambe on a free, will go to a tribunal as he`s 23, and now Morecambe have targeted Pool`s Matty Blinkhorn as a replacement.

The Pool forward spent some time on loan down the road at Morecambe and is currently looking at a new contract at Bloomfeild Road.
