Pool travel to Croft Park tonight to take on Blyth Spartans in their 2nd pre-season friendly. The fixture was agreed as part of Jarrett Rivers’ transfer from Blyth Spartans to Blackpool and he will likely feature tonight.
New signing Jack Redshaw is also expected to feature for the first time in a tangerine shirt whilst Mark Cullen will be looking to build upon his two goals against Lancaster. Pool are likely to field a relatively unchanged lineup from that against Lancaster as McDonald’s options, particularly in defence, remain very limited.
The opposition Blyth Spartans hit the headlines last year when they went on a very impressive FA cup run which saw them beat League Two Hartlepool United before crashing out against Birmingham City in the 3rd round. They play in the Northern Premier League Division, the 7th tier in English football.
The emphasis will of course be on the Blackpool fans too. After two pitch invasions in the previous two matches, football fans and the FA will be watching on to see how the tangerine supporters behave in this fixture.
