Coventry City defender Martin Cranie wants his side to build on a battling draw at Swansea City last night.

They drew 0-0 at the Liberty Stadium to avoid their ninth defeat on the road this season.

The Sky Blues play host to Blackpool on Saturday afternoon, looking to build upon five victories at the Ricoh.

Cranie said: ‘It was pleasing to get the point because, to be honest, it wasn’t the best game of football, but points are what matters.

‘From a defensive point of view I thought we did very well because I don’t think Swansea actually had many chances at all, so for us that’s a successful night.

‘We’re back at the Ricoh Arena as well on Saturday and we have been in good form at home, so hopefully we can take the positives from this result and carry them into the game at the weekend.’

From a ‘Pool perspective, Ian Holloway’s side have only won three times on the road – the worst record in the top 10 – and need the three points to bounce back into the playoff spaces.

They were leapfrogged by Sheffield United, who beat Reading.
