After last nights cup win over Derby the reserves featured no first team players. The Clarets line up included Akinbiyi, Unsworth, Gudjonsson, Mahon and O’Connor all with vast league experience.

Former Manchester United player Phil Marsh started for Pool, Marsh is looking for a contract after leaving Old Trafford in the summer.

Burnley took the lead halfway through the first forty-five, Robert Turner finishing after good work from little midfielder Joey Gudjonsson.

Turner got his second before the break, this time with a looping header over Clancy in goal.

Burnley stormed into a three-nil lead before the half time break, Northern Ireland international Steve Jones beating three Pool players and then slotting in.

The second half was pretty much the same with Clancy doing well to keep the score down. Pool`s conciliation goal came from Ashton Bayliss.

Blackpool – Clancy, Bayliss, Metcalfe, Lawlor, Doughty, Penswich, Trailist, Mitcheley, Marsh, Kay, Warburton (Smith 69) Subs Not Used – Halstead, Hobbs, Fishwick, Ralston.
