With Simon Grayson back on the Fylde Coast this week Pool’s transfer activity looks likely to increase.

Blackpool Vital understands Paul Dickov will sign a player/coach deal with the Tangerines in the next 48 hours. It is expected Dickov will sign a one year deal combining playing with coaching.

The Scot scored six goals in seven starts with the Seasiders last season. Dickov’s goals next season could once again help Blackpool survive in the Championship.

Also, midfielder Claus Jorgensen should sign a new contract with Blackpool this week. Jorgi was offered a new deal last month but has taken his time in deciding on his future. Claus has made over 70 appearances for the club since signing from Coventry two years ago and the news he is set to extend his stay at the seaside is good news for all concerned.

Another incoming player could be Barnsley’s Martin Devaney. The winger is well regarded by Simon Grayson. The gaffer told the club website: ‘I can clarify we had a bid go in to Barnsley for Martin Devaney. (The bid is believed to be £150,000.)
‘I think he is a talented player who would give us something different,’ Grayson said.

Devaney has made more than 100 appearances for Barnsley scoring 18 goals.

With the players expected back in pre-season training on Thursday it is expected that there will be some new faces among the squad.
