After the news broke that Gary McAlistar had been relived of his duties at Leeds United today, it has emerged that Simon Grayson is fourth favourite to take the Elland Road hotseat, according to Sky Bet.

The Yorkshire man joins a prestigous list of possible gaffers, with Gus Poyet, Aidy Boothroyd and Darren Ferguson at slightly shorter odds than Larry.

Whether Grayson, who has steered the Seasiders from the bottom of League One to midtable in the Championship within three years, would drop down a division remains to be seen.

VitalFootball’s partners, Oddschecker have pushed the former Leeds player out to seventh favourite, behind Oldham manager John Sheridan, Billy Davies and Iain Dowie.

Despite Grayson being linked with plenty of jobs before, this is the first time he’s been installed as a front runner.
