Ian Harte has finally secured a deal at another league club, following his depature from Bloomfield Road back in January.

The former Leeds United left back, who was perhaps a little unlucky at Blackpool during his time here, has penned a contract at Carlisle United until the end of the season.

Still only 31, the defender played four times for The Seasiders, but saw his deal cut short after being ripped to shreds by Wayne Routledge in the 3-0 home defeat to QPR.

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott is very pleased with his new capture:‘Ian is a very experienced player and that’s probably what we need at the moment.

‘He had an excellent day with us today and we are pleased that he has decided that he wants to roll his sleeves up and help us out with the situation that we find ourselves in at the moment.

‘He will bring a calmness in to the back line and he is another who will help the younger players along. Much of his experience is at the very highest level and that is a very good thing for us to have on board.’
