Iain Williamson will referee the cruical encounter between Oldham Athletic and Blackpool at Boundary Park on Sunday evening.

The Berkshire based official has been busy this season – taking charge of 34 games, including games involving Everton, Watford, Sunderland and Birmingham.

On average, he issues close to four yellow cards a game – totalling 131 for the campaign. Nine players have enjoyed early baths in Williamson’s matches, two of which coming the other week in the game between Ipswich and Derby County when goalkeeper Steven Bywater and defender Alex Bruce were sent off after an off the ball incident.

Infact, Williamson has been busy with his red cards in recent weeks, as Tranmere ‘keeper Gavin Ward saw red in Rovers’ 1-1 draw away at Crewe.

The last ‘Pool game he officiated was the 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth last term when John Murphy secured a much needed point on the hour mark.
