Midfield arguably the strongest area of the squad

With many areas of the Blackpool squad needing to be strengthened, one area that arguably does not need much focus on is midfield.

With the likes of Angel Martinez, Chris Basham, Isaiah Osbourne and Barry Ferguson all on the books for next season the midfield is set to be very similar to the one that featured last season. For the majority of the season the midfield played well together, the set of players that played towards the end of the season particularly impressed.

But with star player Ludovic Sylvestre having moved clubs many feel the midfield won`t be quite as strong. However that all depends on whether Spaniard Alberto Noguera can fill the shoes of the Frenchman and really come into his own next season, something which many Tangerine hope happens.

Although the midfield seems stronger than many other areas of the squad, manager Paul Ince clearly feels there is still something to improve on. Pool have recently been linked with the likes of MK Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson and the experienced Neal Bishop, and even though these are players manager Paul Ince feels can improve the squad, I`m sure many of us would rather see a set of new strikers brought in or more defenders to back up the ones already at the club.

Whichever way you look at it, the squad must be added on soon. Players are often linked with the club but until deals are done no progress has truly been made. However it is likely that at least a couple of deals will be done in the upcoming 2 weeks.
