Ian Holloway has stated that ‘there’s something special about this club, it seems to just fit me perfectly,’ in a move that quashes absurd rumours that he could replace Steve Kean at Blackburn Rovers.

The Blackpool manager, who is in his fourth season at Bloomfield Road, was linked with the post at Ewood Park by Alan Nixon in the Sunday Mirror.

But in an interview with the Gazette, conducted before conjecture about his future surfaced, Holloway’s thoughts could not have been further away from leaving Bloomfield Road.

‘I’m realistic about where we are, but I want to keep moving forward,’ he said. ‘I’m even more determined to be a success.

‘There’s something special about this club, it seems to just fit me perfectly.

‘I’ll keep going, I believe in what we are doing, and we won’t stop working hard. If we keep doing that, who knows where we’ll end up.’

One thing is for sure, he won’t be ending up elsewhere any time soon.
