Ian Holloway has confirmed to the Blackpool Gazette that he is searching for a target man to replace Ben Burgess, stating that it is vital that his frontline has a big, physical presence about it when circumstances dictate.

Burgess left the club a few weeks ago for the security of a two year deal with Notts County in League One, despite being offered a new contract with the Seasiders.

And according to Ollie, we’ll miss Ben:

‘We were going to offer him a deal whereby if he played he would be paid a lot more than he’s getting at Notts County, but he goes with our best wishes. He played a big part.

‘Having a big fella up front who can keep hold of the thing is a big help.

‘We are going to miss him.’

Newspaper reports have suggested that Derby striker Rob Hulse could well be the target man that Ollie is looking for.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Malaury Martin is set to be offered a contract by Blackpool after impressing on trial.
